Training the next generation of Solar Installation Technicians

DRH Solar Academy offers solar installation training classes at its interactive Rancho Cucamonga facility. Our courses incorporate both classroom and hands-on solar installation knowledge and techniques.

The need for well trained installers is growing daily.  In California, over 25,000 solar employees were added in 2016, bringing the total solar workforce to over 100,000. And, these are good paying jobs.  The average median income for a solar installer is $26 per hour based on the 2016 solar census.

Solar Boot Camp – Installer 101

Photovoltaic Installation Basics (40 hours)

This course is geared for students who are new to solar and are looking to be able to take the knowledge learned and apply it directly to a job. It is a one week course, offered from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.

Solar 201

Advanced Photovoltaic Installer Training (40 hours)

Solar 201 is designed for intermediate level installers who want to take their installation knowledge to the next level. This course focuses on electrical theory and wiring, as well as effective system design.

Solar 301

Photovoltaic System Operations, Maintenance and Troubleshooting (40 hours)

As the solar industry matures and the number of installs continues to climb, the need for skilled O&M technicians will grow exponentially. This course is intended for those desiring a more in-depth dive into PV system maintenance and troubleshooting.
